How the reading works, and what it cannot do

- What it reads
- A single photograph of one garment lying flat and unworn. From that it reads the depth and shape of the armhole, whether there is a side vent, how the hem is finished, how deep the waistband is, where the seams run and whether there is a lining.
- How a verdict is produced
Automated recognition reports what is visible on the flat. That is its only job.
The verdicts themselves come from a fixed rule table that runs in your browser and maps structure to movement. The recognition step never decides whether a movement holds, is limited or fails. Every verdict names the piece of structure that produced it, so you can check it against the garment in front of you.
- This is not a wear test
This reads the garment, not the wearing. A stretchier fabric or a looser size can change every one of these.
Fabric stretch, the size you chose and how far you take a movement all change the outcome, and all three are unknown to the service.
- No assurances
- No assurance is given that a garment will not ride up, and none that a garment is suitable for every movement. A reading is information about construction, not a guarantee of behaviour.
- No training content
Movespan provides no training content of any kind. It does not teach movements, write programmes, prescribe sets or repetitions, correct form, or assess fitness or physique.
It answers one question: whether the way a garment is cut can take a movement. It does not answer how a movement should be performed, or whether anyone should perform it.
- No health judgement
Movespan makes no judgement about pain, injury or rehabilitation. If a request contains language about pain, injury, surgery, joints, strains or recovery, the analysis is skipped in full — not annotated, not caveated, skipped — and this is returned instead:
Anything about pain or injury needs a physio or a doctor, not a clothing tool. We only look at how the garment is cut.
Nothing on this service is medical advice. Direct any question of that kind to a physiotherapist or a doctor.
- No human image, anywhere
Movespan neither receives, generates nor displays any human image — no photograph, no illustration, no silhouette, no stick figure.
Movements are shown by name and by abstract mark only. There is no upload path for a photograph of anyone wearing anything, and no body-related content of any kind — nothing about shape, size, weight or appearance — is provided.
This is also why there are no movement demonstrations on this site. A demonstration requires depicting a person, so there are none.
- What a reading cannot know
- How much the fabric actually stretches, and how much it recovers.
- The size you chose, and how it falls compared with the one photographed.
- How far you take the movement.
- How the piece behaves when damp, and how it changes after washing.
This list is shown with every reading and is never watermarked, hidden or shortened on any plan.
- Your photographs
- Photographs you upload are not used to train any model, ours or anyone else's. Deleting a reading deletes the photograph stored with it. See the privacy policy for retention periods and the deletion path.
- Prohibited uses
- A reading must not be used as an input to any medical, legal, financial, safety, employment, credit, housing or judicial decision. See the acceptable use policy.
- Getting it wrong
- If a reading is wrong, it is almost always because the photograph was misread. That is why every verdict names its cause. Tell us at support@drvynapparel.shop — corrections to the rule table come from exactly these reports.
